Beervana was excellent as usual. Friday 12 - 4 session much more relaxed and heaps of tables & stools this year.

Garage Project's 'Ziggy's Carrot Cake' & The Mussel Inn 'Captain Cooker' were stand outs for me.

Tuatara fans - Thorndon New World have got six-packs for $18 at the moment. Pretty good value I thought.
Sitting here enjoying my 'sampler' pack right now.

And if you've not noticed, the New Zealand Beer Festival is on tomorrow at The Cloud in Auckland.  Bigger, better, more craft breweries than ever.  This year they've got more beer, more bar, and more seating than last year so it promises to be totally awesome...

Brewday Martinborough 8th March 2014. Last year was the first one they have held, and I enjoyed it more than Beervana, outdoors, relaxing and lots of great beer.

Was it all freezing cold and fizzy though?

I'm a big fan of wheat beers too.
Baroona Brewery on Waiheke Island used to do a good wheat beer (don't know if they still do).

I heard on the car radio on Thursday that the Jelly Belly company has released a (non-alcoholic) beer-flavoured jelly bean as part of their range, but lots of people are complaining about it sending the wrong message to kids (despite the fact that the company already has other jelly beans using flavours from alcoholic drinks, pina colada being one of them).
