Went to Black Sabbath last night, man that is one gig I will really cherish amongst the ones I've been too. Superb.

I was in Ponsonby on Saturday night which was uncharacteristically quiet.  I did wonder if the average Ponsnobbyian was a Black Sabbath fan ;)

Start of the school holidays, roads were manic on the way out of Auckland I was told.

kendog: Favourite concert = ACDC at the stadium in Wellington
Worst concert = Cranberries in Auckland
Biggest regret = Never seeing Pink Floyd live

I went to Cranberries too, and whilst it wasn't the best concert I went to I am curious what you didn't like?

It seemed really short and lacking energy. From memory the audio quality wasn't great either.
Was a big road trip from gizzy, was hoping for more.

I went to see Bruno Mars last night. I missed him by a few days in Hawaii I was quite disappointed.

It was a decent concert. Sits in the middle of the pack for me, mainly because it was so FREAKING loud. I will admit I am probably a little bit of nana, but there were quite a number of people commenting on it as we left the venue. The drums and band in general often drowned him out completely or nearly, and given his talent (including the fact he plays decent drums and decent guitar as well as singing) I was disappointed. There were a few really outstanding numbers and some quite strange songs as well that I wasn't familiar with.

He had very good cohesion with his band mates ( I think the drummer is his brother) and the parts where they danced in unison were pretty good. He reminds me a little of MJ.

I'd give it a 7/10.

Loud? I didn't think it was too bad. I took my plugs but didn't bother wearing them. Where were you sitting?

Good show though. Tight, fun band.

I'm going on Saturday in Christchurch. Would have gone to Wellington tomorrow had it been announced in the first round of tickets.

About 1/3 of the way up the left hand wall closest to the stage.

Well that was a blinder! (literally as well as figuratively - NIN light show was like a stun grenade...mild drain bamage may have occurred)

QOTSA were probably the best I have seen them (mind you, the last time was over 10 years ago) and Trent & co. were brutal.

Impressed with the sound quality for Vector as well - much better than when I saw Radiohead, though I was pretty much by the control booth.

FTW.

Looking forward to it, managed to score a ticket for tonight in Wellington, and heading to Christchurch on Saturday morning for the concert down there too.

I see from some pics on Twitter that NIN didn't bring their multi-media show with them - just the standard touring lights. Bit disappointing, but at least it means I'm not missing anything by not going to Vector (I had incorrectly assumed if they brought the multimedia show it would just be to Vector).

Frankly, it was enough! Impressive light show.

Yeah it's good, I've seen it before a few times, but I'm desperate to see the full multimedia show - it looks insane on concert videos.

Networkn: I can't have been too far from you. At the front but fairly high up.

The lights were pretty impressive and almost blinding at times. I could see the backstage control area and it was pretty large.

Up the top the high end audio was a little light sometimes but still a great show. QOTSA put on a great set but I was primarily there to see NiN. It felt like it was really short but I think that was more because I was enjoying it so much. Can't complain when the concert starts at 7 and ends after 11.
