Tacos!  So damn tasty, yet impossible to eat without making a bloody mess.

Having to enter my email and use the “I am not a robot” to unsubscribe from a mailing list.
In this case it was from a US congressman, so someone added my email to his list. At last it didn’t say it would take 72 hours to process and I could expect more emails in that time.

QR codes stuck to things to supposedly give you more information.

99% of the population probably have no clue what they are or even know that you need to download an app to read them.

Not on an iPhone. QR reader is built into the camera app.

I built a kiosk for a non-profit. It's not used by many people, but after more than a year of installation, there had only been one use of the QR code feature. That was when I tested it.

The other fail I see for QR codes is when they're used without a referrer id so there's no stats collected.

I actually quite like QR codes, but as you've pointed out in other threads, I'm not always the target audience.

In this case the QR code actually works quite well. Data is very generously provided by a third party, and in exchange we had an informal agreement to refer users to their site for additional information. I don't feel too guilty if people aren't using the provided URLs via QR codes. The target site uses an excessive number of parameters to create even a single page, so on the screen we can only show a site link in text.

I can't say I have found QR codes to be especially life changing. I think I may have used one once because my camera wifi creates one that is supposed to 'speed up' connecting a mobile device to the camera. It doesn't.

I disagree with the poor rap QR codes get. I really like them, I find them useful very often.

In my experience, the issues occur, when, like everything, they are poorly implemented. I have heard of QR codes being used maliciously to link to dodgy urls.

Grammarly ad's. I hate them. I don't use an adblocker on principle because I believe that content creators often create content free of charge and get paid with ad's and some I have found to be very interesting and useful. However, I wish I could just block this one type.

Ludicrous language, most especially common in reports from the Police and/or courts.

This one caught my eye today:

"The vehicle became stationary and police spoke to her. "

The vehicle "became stationary"? You mean, it stopped?

'Yessh! Ssssomebody ssstole my carrr', the man replies.

The cop asks, 'Where was your car the last time you saw it?'

'It wasss on the end of thisshh key', the man replies.

The vehicle is female? That's how it reads to me.
