Here's what I've worked out between the two for a given item:

Item Weight     3.2 ounces
Product Dimensions     4.2 x 2.8 x 1.5 inches

Shipto =

USD$9.06 (~$12.82) / Airmail Economy

USD$23 (~$32.55) / USPS First Class International Parcel

YouShop =

$12.50 / 9-14 day delivery

$17.25 / 5-9 day delivery

Well economy seems on par but that's quite a difference for premium.

Just when I thought I was on to a winner, now looks like it isn't going too well!

At least you're getting a response within a reasonable time.  I've been waiting ~48 hours for responses to emails.

I read about the delays; but haven't experienced the issue myself

Had a final parcel of four arrive Saturday, paid a few hours later (economy option) and it shipped the same day (which really surprised me)

Update:

I used ShipItTo for the first time and WOW what a difference! here's the timeline TODAY:

0400: Receive email saying my item has arrived

0630: Log in and go through 'checkout' and pay and I have to say it's streamlined! and the amount of shipping options available is amazing...but of course more expensive! oh what is this? a photo of my package arriving?! yes sir! not 1 but 2 photos...is this for real?! Impressive! and what? I can have a photo (or several for $ of course) of the package when you ship?! wow...stop it already! lol

1100: Receive email saying my item is on it's way!

Very impressed and clearly service focused! I'll be using them in future for sure.

Cheers!

How's the shipitto pricing compared to youshop? I haven't had the best experience with youshop over the last few months, and was considering trying another service.

Quick update for me, my package (from youshop) was handed over for rural delivery this morning so I'll receive it 8am tomorrow morning.

So for me, it was 7 days (Friday-Friday US timezone) between receipt by YouShop and me being told I had a package and 9 days (Friday-Sunday) from Payment to dispatch.

Certainly seems slower in general than in the past. I had a small parcel ship vis USPS. Tracking showed it was delivered in Portland on March 2, but I've only just received the 'Parcel has arrived at YouShop' email this morning.

We've had real painful difficulties with their customer service in the past too so I think it's definitely time to look at the likes of shipitto.

For the item I had, here were the options available for a 0.4lb 4x6.5x6.5 inch package (I went with Airmail Economy):

Note: ALL IN US $

USPS Priority Mail
Medium (6-10 business days)
$55.44
+ $3.00 (Insurance)

Airmail Economy
Very Slow (20-45 business days)
$6.06
+ $3.00 (Insurance)

FedEx Economy
Fast (2-5 business days)
$42.93
Insurance included

USPS First Class International Parcel
Slow (varies by country)
$23.00

I'd say give it a try just to experience what a shipping service should be like!

Had a parcel arrive at Youshop last Saturday, it got processed yesterday and is apparently expected to depart on the 10th (US time I guess) then 9-14 day delivery.  We'll see how the last leg goes but not too bad all-round I guess.

Interesting thing is the cost.  I was expecting to pay $12.50, it weighs 300g and is not very large.

It came to $16 though. Apparently is it 14 x 18 x 10 cm  which produces a volumetric weight of 0.504kg.

Using their calculator, 2mm less on any one of the three sides and it would have been $12.50.

I'll be getting a ruler out when it arrives  ( I know it's only $3.50, it's the principle).

The first 5 days after the weekend are the hardest.

My economy parcel which shipped Saturday (USA) arrived in Auckland at 1am this morning and cleared customs just before 7am according to the emails from YouShop

Artificial delays in Auckland will mean I might see the parcel Saturday or Monday

Mine finally were checked in  - 6days plus to do this from arriving at the USA warehouse.

1x small box 19 cm × 19 cm × 3 cm 0.22kg 9-14 Days NZ$12.50

1x Tennis Racquet 70 cm × 31 cm × 7 cm 3.04kg 9-14 Days NZ$33.50

1x Tennis Racquet 82 cm × 27 cm × 11 cm 4.87kg 9-14 Days NZ$44.00

I thought the racquets would be ideal for consolidation being so thin and of similar dimensions but apparently not. Anything for consolidation cant have any dimension larger than 50cm. Not sure of their consolidation process but thought the items were repacked. They must actually just chuck them all in a 60x60x? box or something?

Given the delay in receipting the parcels into the warehouse, cost, consolidation limitations and the demand I supply purchase invoices on the suppliers letterhead before they would even make an enquiry as to whereabouts of my deliveries even though they had been tracked to the warehouse i doubt I will be using Youshop regularly in the future.

I've used consolidation, they didn't repack, they just put things into another bag / box. Actually, they put them into two boxes but didn't indicate that on the web interface. One box showed up and half the stuff was missing, they couldn't find the rest of the stuff, but a couple of days later a box with the rest turned up. Youshop had no idea that'd been done.

Most of the time youshop is fine, but they're clearly not particularly experienced or professional. Nothing like ShipItTo, they're professional, but more expensive in many cases.
