Well obviously you'd only watch it if you've seen the original film.

Yeah plus watching it in chronological order really helps make sense of the film. But yes only after watching the original! I read up on numerous discussion forums after my second viewing to get a grasp of the full depth of the film. There's some cool hidden Easter eggs thrown in there too :D

joker97: lol why would you watch that :D

the show is more amazing :D

for the same reason you would watch pulp fiction in chronological order.

curiosity.

btw i'm not a fan of memento - like most of nolan's films it's just too clever for it's own good.

insomnia and the prestige are more to my liking.

;)

My partner and I watched Django Unchained the other night as she'd never seen it. She really enjoyed it and rated it a 10 outta 10.

Watched 3 movies in the last 24 hours

Deliver Us From Evil... Starring Eric Bana as a cop who starts investigating a case that turns out to involve possession.  Pretty good movie has some pretty graphic scenes in it so not for those who don't like blood etc.

Lucy...Starring Scarlett Johansen.  It's about a chick who starts using more and more of her brains capacity (currently it's estimated we only use about 10% of our brains capacity).  Not too bad if you like SJ then you'll probably like this.

Last movie we watched was Jersey Boys...Didn't know many in this other Christoper Walken but he only has a bit part.  The movie is about the story of the Four Seasons (Frankie Valli).  It's a good movie with some good music (if you like their music that is)

Saw Jersey Boys myself last week. Better than I expected. Totally enjoyed it.

jtbthatsme:
Paul1977: Watched Hercules (Extended Edition) last night. It was surprisingly watchable.

Also watched this a few days back although I enjoyed it I would have liked more detailed scenes showing him do some of his 12 trials as 10-15 seconds of him fighting big monsters wasn't enough.

Wasn't the point really that it was all myth and he was just a man, so no big monsters?

Not really the myth was that he supposedly was a legendary fighter of great strength who who saved the towns/people by killing these creatures by himself... Which he didn't (in this movie anyway) he had help.

I don't see my post as containing spoilers otherwise I would have changed the text colour to white and used a spoiler header.  If you read the synopsis of the movie beforehand or even watch the movie you would know that it's not about fighting the monsters so what I mentioned is not a spoiler as you don't see these fights as they're not the focus (or even really part) of the movie.

Of the 12 Labours of Hercules (set by his cousin King Eurystheus) 9 of them involve beasts/monsters.

ilovemusic: interstellar - theatrical screening.

wasn't going to see this, as i'm not a big nolan fan, but got a free ticket
this is going to be as polarising as anything he's done.

its full of;
pretty pictures and sound
recycled plot
dodgy science
clunky dialogue
too long !!!
6/10

I was just going to post something similar, but it was already here. Big and beautiful and moving but it lost me in the last 3/4 of an hour. Way to long and just a bit hokey and clunky. See it on the big screen though, because the sights and sound are amazing.

I'm currently reading (trying to read) "The Science Of Interstellar" by Kip Thorne who is the physicist who consulted on the film. His job was basically to take the directors ideas and find a way to explain it that is theoretically possible, even if it is EXTREMELY unlikely.

SPOILER (highlight to read)
*******BBCODE NOT WORKING SPOILER BELOW********

[color=#E9E8E2] E.g. for the time dilation on Miller's planet to be so extreme, the black hole would have to be spinning at 99.9999999999% of the theoretical maximum speed that known physics would allow.

However, it ill be interesting to see how he explains everything that happens after Cooper crosses the event horizon of the black hole. [/color]

******END SPOILER*******

Some of it is pretty hard to get your head around (for me anyway), but worth a read.

EDIT: BBCode to change text colour not working, adding bold warnings on spoiler.

The Babadook. Creepy horror/psychological thriller about a solo mum raising a kid with 'issues' and a monster that lurks in their house. I was surprised that it was an Australian film. Really enjoyable, a bit creepy. 7/10.
