About the posted food: I hope this is just a concentrated selection and you don't eat it every day. Or you're planning to kill yourself with a knife and fork sooner or later. πŸ˜‰

ROFL. I love pasta. Carbonara, alla gricia, alla putanesca... Love meats too: jamon, prosciutto and beef. And goat. And lamb. And cheese.

How is this for today, then? Green leafs, olives, jamon iberico, parmigiano, olive oil, aceto balsamico:

Other than the Olives, that looks awesome. I'd substitute for either cherry tomatoes, maybe green grapes.

I still had a few things in the fridge that were left over from Sunday. So I fired up the oven again. Pizza napoletana con prosciutto - again without any special equipment and ingredients that should be available in every supermarket.

I am looking forward to a churrasco next weekend. Ordered wagyu picanha and short ribs from First Light Farms. Out now to get some charcoal.

The legendary MF Churrasco? I'll be judging at Meatstock.

With Wagyu, I always have the problem of getting smaller (Japanese) portions. But luckily I have a vacuum sealer for my hunted game meat and can divide it up better.

Steamed Asian turkey dumplings, a traditional classic with a modern twist in a glass steamer instead of a bamboo steamer. These things are so delicious and almost addictive (in a harmless way, as they contain healthy ingredients).

Do you have a recipe for these things that you are posting?

Otherwise it might be best to create a new post "Post what I ate tonight"

Doesn't the thread title also say ‘… food thought’? Perhaps your comment fits better in the ‘annoyance thread’? A recipe alone wouldn't help much either ... and to teach it properly, I would have to offer cookery courses, but I don't have the time for that either. 😁

What beautiful things can you show me?

I don't have photos but I also made dumplings last night

  • 500gms of lamb mince (beef or pork works just as well)
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 1/2 dozen mushrooms finely diced
  • 1/4 to 1/5 of cabbage finely diced
  • 1 onion finely diced
  • 1 clove of garlic finely diced
  • 1 finger length of ginger finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of rice wine
  • pepper
  • other spices to taste
  • dumpling/ wonton wraps

I fried on the BBQ, served with rice, broccoli  and a salad, turned out great, with heaps left over for school lunches.

Coriander works a treat in fillings as well.

No photos but chicken schnitzel is a nice and simple (and cheap meal) that kids love

Thinly cut chicken breasts.

  • coat in flour
  • coat in egg/milk
  • coat in bread crumbs

Fry/BBQ

serve with rice/salad/corn

Nice healthy easy meal

I'm impressed, but ... OK. No photos.

If 10 people make it like this, you’ll get 11 different meals, including yours. The way I cook is to match the local recipe of the place in the world where I ate it. Different 😊.

You would have to be able to talk with your hands, feet and smile to a venerable old lady, for example in Laos or in a street kitchen in Bangkok, and watch her cooking in order to receive her traditional recipe as a gift with respect and many thanks.

Those look incredible, I'd love it if you could post them as smaller pictures we could click on to zoom in though.
