The wife bought a baby monitor from farmers, used it for a couple of hours on battery then plugged it in to AC mains for the night.

It turns out it's not a very useful baby monitor as once it has finished charging the battery it turns itself off... which leads to a crying baby that no one can hear.

I'd say that this isn't fit for purpose so it should be refundable under the CGA. The wife was told by farmers that they will only offer an in-store credit which wife accepted due to not knowing they must offer a full refund.

Can I go back and demand a cash refund or has wife's acceptance removed that option now?

She agreed so I'd say you'd lose the fight.

Educate her for next time, and you can also get a different kind.

Really, who has these things? When mine were babies, I could hear them with my ears....your house must be enormous.

I have found farmers good to deal with. I would ask the manager.
