Rust:
What is the expected range of your average powerline network extender (assuming good electrical connection)? Would 200m be pushing it?
yep

I'm looking at buying a new Kia Stonic car. How do I find out what type of petrol it uses (eg 91, 95, 98)? The brochure is at https://www.kia.co.nz/assets/Uploads/KIA200885-Stonic-Brochure-Update-OCT23.pdf but I can't see any mention of fuel type.
Only way to be certain is to open the fuel filler door and check the label within.
According to the user manual, the Stonic needs 91 or better, like most engines in its range. Will run fine on 91, higher octane won't hurt it but costs more.

Thanks for that, I didn't think to look for the manual!
Do kids (say under 10 years) need their passports signed? If yes, can an adult sign it instead?

OK just found out the answer. The answer is yes. So, for argument's sake, how does a 6 month old sign their passport?

We had a link on 2 buildings 250-300m or so apart on the same transformer. It was a crap link, but it still linked up and was able to pass the rural ADSL connection to the best of the speed that it gave. It depends on what other loads are on the circuits to absorb the signals. In that case one of the buildings was about 50m from the meter at the roadside and had an alarm system and some fluro lights, and occasionally a compressor and the other was down a long drive way and had a handful of household type loads. Biggest issue was figuring out what outlets were on the same phase as both had 3 phase in them.

Thanks, that's good to know.
The situation is 2 houses on one property approximately 200m apart with the main feed from to pole and distribution board about half way between. 3 Phase to each house. I have Starlink, the other house has not great 4g. Was hoping it may be a cheap and easy way for them to use my data. They are elderly and use little, but if I can supply it then its one less thing for them to worry about.
Might give it a go on the weekend. Cheers.

Because that is how the system has been gamed to work. Buy an overpriced house and you are stuck paying a mortgage for much of your working life, and this is only getting worse as prices have increased much more than incomes in NZ. But a more and more people are following the FIRE principles.

Instead of trying to run a signal over unknown-quality mains wiring, why not get directional WiFi antennas off Aliexpress and use a wireless link? Or buy two used Ruckus APs from TM and use the beamforming to do the same thing?
