MadEngineer: They’re not recyclable. The language used is like when you get a school report and it says that that while your child has at times been able to demonstrate good behaviour little Jimmy has been making working on improving it further.
Yep - it’s dishonest and BS. The heading “Recyclable by design” is likely a straight out lie - or is at least intended to mislead as proven by the obfuscating paragraph that follows it.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The symbol and numbers aren't recycling numbers, they are resin identification codes. That they get used for sorting recycling is a convenient smokescreen for manufacturers.

gzt: I expect uber drivers start their morning shift around that time. The door to door airport shuttles have been reliable for me in the past. I might have been lucky with pickups and drop offs working out well.
So it worked pretty well, driver was there within a few minutes of the pre-booked time. As you say, it was probably around the time some of them start, and a fare to the airport is one that no-one's going to turn down.

Do you know that?
The containers are made by Bonson who appear to make a lot of other food grade containers from polypropylene (5).

. The general population doesn't have a degree in plastics so we get told we can recycle 1,2 and 5's so they need to be labled so if they are indeed #5's
I don't know the recent history of Jimbos containers but today all the varieties in our New World looked like this on the bottom of the container. Nothing on the lid but lids aren't accepted anyway.
Flat plastic lids and bits of cardboard aren't easy for the sorting equipment to separate apparently.
There are alternative places to kerbside recycling that take lids. The Jimbos lid could have a label on the underside, we don't have a cat so weren't prepared to buy a sample.
I buy a couple every week. I can't find any sign of a recycling number on the ones I currently have. I will keep checking. 5 would be okay because our local recycling takes that.
Edit: Maybe I should add that the ones I buy are kangaroo meat, which is all my cats will eat.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
The ones in NW today had labels running around the sides. Some pictures show a label going from 1 side underneath to opposite side. What sort do you have? Is the label covering the number?
It looks like they just changed the labelling. Previous ones I had in the freezer didn't have it but one I just looked at does: Bonson and the triangle in big clear markings on the bottom. They must just be catching up.

^ that's the reason I started buying aussie roo burgers from Burger Wisconsin back in the day. They just happened to also be the best ever burgers.

Im leaning towards some sort of electric blade for sure... just to add a bit more detail - think boxes for new fridge or washing machine etc... Large ones that need cutting down
I don't have experience with these myself, but one of these would surely do the trick:
Ryobi USB Lithium Power Cutter Kit
I ended up buying the Ryobi. Not super powerful but it doesn't need to be. Gets through cardboard happily.
