yes, I can understand a query with some incorrect letters in each word. It might look like this: "Can you understand a query with some incorrect letters in each word?" Is that what you meant? If you have a specific example, feel free to share!

I’m going to be on the road for a few weeks.

I’ve got a variety of cables with USB A to C and C to C fittings.

Many hotels, planes and so on have only USB A.

What’s the best solution to ensure compatibility? Ideally 4 or 6 outputs in A and C with both A and C input options.

Does such a thing exist?

I might not be explaining it well. I want a hub I can connect to either USB A socket or USB C socket in the ‘wall’ which both USB A and USB C cables can be connected to. Does such a multilingual device exist?

I ended up with an Anker 737 GaNPrime charger that has 2 USB C and one USB A port and will deliver 100w charging.

Plus a couple of adapters to turn USB C into A if I need to plug in whilst on a plane etc.

The charger will do a good job of even my 16” MBP which I’m not taking this time but it’s good to know it’s capable of it if required.

Coming up to Matariki?

Seems to be an emoji, not an image, so can't get hints from the URL...

I also have an Anker 737. Great piece of kit for at home or travelling. I have a couple of other GaN chargers rated to 100W with multiple outlets but I tend to trust the Anker more.

How are unemployment figures calculated and are they accurate?

My wife works as a contractor doing change and programme management mainly in Wellington. Her contract just ended because the budget cuts for the department meant the project was canned.

She tells me many friends and colleagues in Wellington are going through similar and usually survive on savings between periods of work. This means they won’t claim government support and so I wondered how or if those kinds of unemployment get counted in official numbers.

IIRC there are two official measures.

One is the number of people claiming unemployment benefits (I think it's called "Job Seeker" nowadays).
This is an easy-to-calculate measure that obviously doesn't contain people who are between jobs but can't claim a benefit, or those who consider it not something they want to participate in - such as your wife's contractor acquaintances. It also doesn't include sickness beneficiaries and those on other benefits.

The other measure is through the Household Labour Force survey run by Statistics NZ. Every so often - maybe yearly - they randomly select a bunch of people who they then ring up once a quarter and ask them what they've done with their time - paid work, voluntary work, housework and leisure - and how much they've earned. If you're not in full-time paid work, they ask you if you are looking for (more) work, too, so they can get measures of under-employments as well as unemployment.
[I have in the past been part of the Household Labour Force survey.]

Interesting. Thanks.

I wonder what the percentage of “uncounted” jobless is. My wife says that based on conversations with others in her sort of work there are plenty that aren’t likely to get counted.
