Do forks go in the cutlery basket handle down or handle up? And what about knives?
I always put knives handle up, after cutting myself on one loaded "upside down". I tend to do the same with forks, probably for consistency, although I haven't really thought about it very hard.
Sharp knifes don't go in the dishwasher cutlery basket; bashing against other cutlery will blunt them. Dedicated knife holder/drawer or hand wash.
Forks, spoons, and butter knifes are handle down for better capacity and because the dirty bits are more exposed, rather than being shielded by the basket.
Teaspoons are spoon down because the handle slips through our basket.
Blades down, prongs and spoons up.

Too much text, it should be:
Sharp knifes don't go in the dishwasher
Or at least it's sort of true in that they'll be sharp the first few times they go in the dishwasher, then they'll be blunt. Dishwashing can also damage or warp the handles if they're not all-steel, and if that's a $300 chef's knife...
After watching a parent load a baby in a car for a drive to get them to sleep I had a thought ... does the same trick work when the car is an EV ?
I used to load our twins into our old diesel and the vibrations had them from grumpy to asleep in moments, would it work in my Tesla now ? (can't test it, twins are now 16 :-)
Pretty sure it would.
There's also the scenery flying past even if it's just the tree tops from their POV, the quiet environment or constant background noise even if low-level, the secure comfy seat that could be simulating swaddling, familiarity but also the motion around corners etc etc
Why do people (mostly Europeans, it seems) get annoyed when you say "soccer"? It was originally a British term, but they seem to shun its use and I don't know why!

Especially where football can refer to so many different sports depending on where you live. Soccer, rugby, league, AFL, NFL, CFL, GAA (Gaelic) and probably a few more.
It makes me laugh though - the same Brits who insist soccer is called 'football' will then, 5 minutes later, say something along the lines of "You see the footy last night" The Warriors played well..."

And yet all those "other" footballs involve using the hands more than the feet..... Isn't language wonderful.

Its the UK people that do it, and its because when they are outside home, in one of the colonies they expect everything to be like back at home and any change from that is too much for them to handle.

Funny you should ask that. We have number of long, thin-handled sundae spoons. Mrs Code always puts them in the basket handle-down and they poke right through and stop the lower sprayer from rotating.
I regularly have to ask/remind her to put them in with the handles pointing up. Today was another of those days.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
gzt: I see yeah I'd check the detailed specs carefully on that. I'd guess it's the same internationally maybe some gotcha like case or charging variation.
I see the 3rd generation is available from NZ resellers for less than 2nd gen in some variations.
Wikipedia is sometimes a good guide for SKU variations.
There are no 3rd gen AirPods Pro yet, 2nd gen are the latest. The 3rd gen you are seeing for cheaper are probably the non-Pro version.
