Kero is also burned in jet engines.

Back in the day, I remember our next door neighbour rubbing it into his scalp. He used to reek of it and swore it stopped dandruff and made his hair grow healthy. It was also used as a rub on his arthritis. He died in his late 90s so can’t say it killed him.
Used to also be used to remove head lice

And in many liquid-fuelled rockets (as RP-1). Might keep it on hand for the next time I need to launch an Atlas.
When I was a kid in Wellington in the 1950’s we had a couple of these Valor kerosene heaters - one had two burners, the other had one. Worked really well.
At the same time we had two of these kero heaters. One of them had a different shaped guard to the one in this ad. The chrome guard was bigger and flat on top and if there was a power cut, you could heat your gruel on it.

That's what a Primus is for, so you can enjoy the taste of porridge and kerosene, beans and kerosene, tea and kerosene, noodles and kerosene, the possibilities are endless.

What's the FFWD and RWD functions of the Black Sky box called, compared to the method streaming platforms use?
The Black box is a continious frame by frame rewind, whereas the stream jumps in blocks of time.

The Black box is a continious frame by frame rewind, whereas the stream jumps in blocks of time.
Fast Forward and Rewind are the ones that work like old video cassette players did. The ones that jump without displaying the video in between are normally called "skip" forwards or backwards and are the modern and easier to use versions (if implemented correctly). Often, equipment that is Freeview certified is not able to use skip as it too easily allows skipping over the ads and not seeing them, and I presume that streaming systems with ads will also do something to prevent you from skipping over the ads. I do not do streaming with ads so I have not got any direct experience there.
A good skip implementation will allow you to set the forwards and backwards skip sizes and offer two different keys for skipping in each direction, one for short skips (typically 30-60 seconds) and one for long skips (typically 5-10 minutes). The long skip keys usually use page up / page down keys or the up arrow and down arrow keys (or both). The short skips usually use the left and right arrow keys.
Best skip implementations will offer an extra trick where if you are skipping forwards in say 30 second jumps, and then do a skip backwards, the backwards skip will be a smaller skip, say 5 seconds. This allows you to do skip forwards button presses until you are over a block of ads and see the programme again, then do a few back skips until you are just back into the ads, and then let the video play. With minimal practice, this setup allows you to skip over any size of ad break with ease without seeing more than the last few seconds of the ads, and without missing any of the programme you are watching. Once you stop back skipping and the video is playing again, the back skip distance will reset to the full back skip size instead of the smaller size.

Is there anywhere in Orkland, preferably the North Shore, that still does a proper ice-cream thickshake? By which I mean the kind you can eat with a spoon if required, not just milk, a ton of thickener, and a dollop of iceream in there somewhere.
My local Night 'n Day does, so presumably they all do, although it doesn't look like there are any on the North Shore.
How do you associate a display name with a phone number? A customer has changed primary phone numbers and now their name does not display when they call out to mobile numbers?
