heavenlywild:Or verify via DNA.  Wait, then again we don't want people to start licking their monitors, haha.

I'm not meant to do this? :-S

I find Fairgo just doesn't grasp things properly when it comes to technology stories. They do good stories about cars & unpaid bills and dodgey dealings, but technology they lack someone in the know maybe Mauricio should become Kevin Milne of technology...

At least you didn't put your tongue into the DVD drive!:)

Yes I second that!

I guess Fair Go wants to attract a large demographic and most of us are unhappy about bad service, over-priced bills etc, so I don't blame them for concentrating their stories on those aspects.

I have a separate account which I use on demand solely for online transactions. This account is linked to a VISA debit card.

Say I want to buy a $19.99 App for my iPad ? I simply move $20 from another account to the account in question just before purchasing it. I have no Overdraft set on the account.

Even if the card details are stolen, they may be able to get away with a few dollars.

There's been a couple of times when i have known recipients of Fair Go's "accurate reporting"...Same with Target.

You really have to take everything with a grain of salt, as they certainly don;t look deeply into the plaintiff's side of things, they just like to crucify the defendent.

Taget is aweful... I love the way the presenters struggle to sound knowledgable while reading off a script.

Pretty sure I was hacked once. I woke up this one time to find about a dozen games I don't remember buying on my ipod touch.

Never drink with one-click purchasing enabled. :-/

I do have to admit I don't watch Fairgo, even part-time anymore. And, don't get me started on that crap known as Target.

As for the comment about there being no evidence the victim wasn't hacked; there is also no evidence to show he wasn't, either. Guess it is about who you believe has the more plausible argument.

As for the Google results, I would agree a number are probably due to poor internet skills: ie. weak passwords, falling for scams, etc. However, there must be more going on here than just poor IT skills. This is just one page I quickly perused.

I personally do not believe it is ethical -& it should be illegal, as well- for a company to setup product distribution without any form of in-country personnel support, and it is a cop-out for a multi-billion $ international corporation like Apple to do so. What's next: Ford Australia start selling cars online to NZ with free shipping, but NO land-based support.
