Thought I would start this after a thread about coffee posted here earlier today. I had been contemplating starting one a few weeks ago, when my naked portafilter arrived from Ebay.

My rig is a mini mazzer grinder, expobar brewtus II machine (brilliant, and better than the ubiquitous Vibiemes), espro coffee tamp (spring loaded to supply exactly 30ibs tamp pressure every time), and the beautiful naked portafilter I mentioned above (some serious espresso porn when extracting a shot with one of those, as well as being quite instructional). Its attached to a timer, so that it turns on before I wake in the morning, and before returning from work, so that the whole machine is warmed properly before pulling that first shot. Not plumbed in, since we'll move at some stage.

I get my beans from Coffeelab mostly - I have an AP set up and they courier me fresh beans on their roasting days Monday and Thursday. I highly recommend them.

Will post pics later :)

just a zip stainless steel coffee plunger and what ever coffee looks appealing on the shelf at the time.

If I get the job I had an interview for on Tuesday I might invest in the thermos that is also a plunger as well.

I got a nice one the other day for my Fiance, its a thermos with a plunger top that also has a filter on one edge so it can make tea, and the base has a little opening with a small containder inside so you can take enough coffee/tea to make another thermos full! Got it at Ristretto in Royal Oak, can't remember the name off the top of my head, but can post it later when I get home.

Interesting, I'll buy a bag next week to go alongside my coffeelab beans (which never quite last a week now that my fiance is drinking coffee again post-baby and breastfeeding). Will be impressed if I prefer them to coffee lab! How fresh are they when they send them out?

This week by 'backup bag' is a single origins brazilian coffee, from a 'Cup of Excellence' winning grower. Coffeelab often have single origin bags available in addition to their regular roast.

I use a Nespresso Cityz machine. At home mainly espresso on bodum glass demitsse. Used to have a espresso machine but the whole grinding, tamper, process was getting tedious.

Nespresso makes a consistently good espresso...

Tedious? Really?

After two years with my machine I'm even more deeply in love with the art of it all than I was to begin with!

Variable, almost always one pre- and post-work, sometimes as many as six (like Mauricio I tend to vary what I drink a little, usually flat whites, but sometimes short blacks/long blacks, and starting to play around with ristretto as well).

I have usually 2 flat whites at work, sometimes 3, but in the weekends if I don't have one I get headaches. Do you guys get that?
