oxnsox: Folks with fibre.....
How long did it take for the fibre to go in the pipe once it was in the ground?

They've just started in my street and I'm keen to know how long before 8 might actually have dark fibre at the door.

If they are installing tubeing in your street - then the answer is the fibre dosent get installed untill you apply for it through an RSP and then it is generealy installed and operational withing 4 working days (That is if there are no conditioanl hold ups - eg Muti dwelling, ROW , Civils requirements, permits, access isues etc)

Dont forget that the communial network build, testing and certification for had over can be 2 to 3 mths from the first dig in the ground.

and if you want dark fibre then there must also be the equivalent at the other end

they started in my Street at the end of November last year and im still waiting 5 months later, so it's not a quick process

Just a question but what are you waiting for? as your area, if started in november, would have more than likely be handed over around january

no idea , they have put in a cabinet, been up the poles and filled everything in months ago but im still waiting to get the word that ufb is available and i can install it

My question was more on the lines of who are you waiting for to tell you? Have you allready asked an RSP?

they said they will tell us when its ready to go and i have checked all the address checks on the isp's to see if i can get UFB nothing. Never thought to ring someone  lol

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Knowing my luck, it'll get installed right before I move out. It's happened before. :(

Auckland East Coast Bays...

UFB deployment dates for your area are still being developed.
100m away... UFB fibre up to 100 Mbps between Jul-2014 and Jun-2015

There are two Chorus trucks just down the street, and a couple of holes. Please be fibre!

Don't get too excited. I came home one day to find this next to our driveway. It was for new copper :(

Wow, that would've been disappointing :(

I've been told October for my street, but the sooner the better! I wonder how much lead time there is between the first work and go-live; does anyone know?

Thanks. If it is indeed fibre then that's a good sign. I saw one of the neighbours talking to the Chorus guys so I might ask him if I see him in the next couple of days.

Well if you want to get going now, suggest you find someone in the zone and get a wireless link into your place. Pay half the costs and both of you will be happy

Can I have your fibre then...? 0.6Mbps last night peak time down from 6.5Mbps when we're sleeping, working etc etc.

Tim

At work no speedtest result today...
