Fibre is provisioned for the end of this month (April 2013) in Central Wellington. However I'm a little bit confused that no ISP have a "POP" into Wellington's fibre for the next 1-2 years??? This information was sourced from Chorus.

I'm taking this information with a pinch-of-salt. Does anybody have fibre in Wellington/CBD or the Hutt Valley?

There was another thread where Barry mentioned they were setting up in Wellington over the next few weeks. He was taking residential customers.

surfisup1000: Already got a UFB line outside my house -- but, no national ISP is providing service to Tauranga (except Orcon who currently have huge issues ).

Tauranga customers connected to Ultrafast fibre have been shafted. It is not network build issues, it is the inability of companies such as Telecom to get their act together.

Tauranga shafted? You've got three local ISPs providing services to residential customers and four local ISPs in total providing services to business customers.

I've held off replying to this thread due to this, but nothing's happening on that front now.

Officially I'm supposed to get UFB "by June 2015". However, I'm hopeful that it's running ahead of schedule as yesterday I saw them working in a "by June 2014" area which I would otherwise have thought was several months away.

Called SNAP Internet today and despite Chorus advertising UFB in available in my works street address it's not quite true. Yes UFB is installed, but it not hooked up to any cabinets. Apparently it should come on-line by the end of May 2013 and once a successful test of the line from SNAP I can place and order. Sweeet.

Snap and Orcon dropped their pamphlets to us some months ago.  Rang up Snap last week for sign up, should have it first week of May when my ADSL contract ends :)  Wellington - Churton Park.

FYI, the new year's worth of rollouts have been published... And I'm actually pleasantly surprised that our suburb is up in the coming year.

Yes. Through Telecom in Churton Park. For the others who asked - I think fibre was first available about 2 months after the ducting was laid in our area.

Chorus/Downer have just laid some extra fibre cable in Chews Lane in Wellington last week. It's just outside my office building. Apparently UFB is available at the end of the month.

That area is now marked as "May 2013" on the Chorus map. A different June 2014 area is now listed as Oct 2013. It looks like the rollout is indeed moving faster than expected :)

It would be helpful (I reckon), if Chorus changed the cyan "Planned by Jun-14" to the dark blue "Available" colour as they complete each area that is covered by a cabinet.

The street I live in is already available, but chorus's map now incorrectly shows it as a "Planned by Jun-14" area. Frown

UltraFast Fibre Ltd appear to of just updated their address checker again, rechecked mine and its been brought forward to 3 Jan 2014.
Just hope some more providers like Vodafone become available in Hamilton as there is not a lot of choice at the moment

I'm in the Hutt Valley (on the Western Hills) and:
Chorus: UFB deployment dates for your area are still being developed.
Telecom: Coming later. Sorry, no date available.

So, no.
