jimbob79: How often does Chorus update there database and have it distributed to all the ISP?

I'd love to know that too. The Chorus site lists my work as "by August 2013". Does that mean by the end of August, or does it mean that it's already happened but the data hasn't been updated?

I don't expect that we'll be moving to UFB at work (we already have fibre from FX) but I'd still be interested in knowing what the status actually means so that I can be all nosy about other areas :P

I think there is a major problem (and I hoping I'm wrong about this) with the roll-out of UFB in multi dwelling buildings.

Chorus states that UFB is available at my building and I confirmed this directly with Chorus. However ISPs are showing 'Negative' for UFB at my address because there is no existing physical fibre going directly into the building.

So until the fibre is actually laid, I can't order UFB from any ISP and Chorus won't install the fibre to the building until an UFB order has been requested from an ISP. I'm locked into a deadly embrace.

I've spent months going round and round trying to get some sort of resolution with no way of escalating the issues. It should not be this hard, what I'm I doing wrong?

In the mean time I've got the building owners to give consent to Chorus to install UFB at my location hoping that going to help speed things up.

Location: New Windsor, Auckland (right next to Blockhouse Bay)

Network capability: Broadband > 10 Mbps
Network upgrade scheduled: UFB deployment dates for your area are still being developed

So no VDSL or Fibre :/
Seems to be a blackhole as far as fast internet goes :(

Professor Farnsworth "Good news everyone, I've teached, the toaster to feel love ...".

Problem found! It looks like it's an operational issue with ISPs. For Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU), prequals are always going to come back negative "NGA". The ISP should then email NGA team at Chorus to query the negative prequal and then Chorus would’ve advised the ISP to go ahead and submit their New Connection order for their customer and manually approve the order.

Apparently this information has been conveyed to all ISP and a process is in place to handle these MDU connections.

I hope this piece of information helps many other who I struggling the same way as me.

Well, it's September now but the site still says "by August"...

In that case they were digging rather prematurely :)

Never :-(

I'm just hoping that UFB means there will be spare ADSL2 gear kicking around that they can install in my location...

It looks like you were right; it's been updated since yesterday and now says May 2014! But they were still digging and laying green pipes a few months ago...
