After getting changed over and 1 hour on 17a till power cut, then onto 8b
After 2 days on 8b another power cut and now I'm back to 17a again (phew)
But just my rotten luck that Power company replacing power poles and I'm stuck with power cuts during the DLM

17a and 8b not really any difference for me, 800m from cabinet (400m along driveway) might be the limiting factor

Give it time ddDLM is designed to reprofile as it goes.

Your case is an interesting one though.

The one thing i haven't seen anyone here speak of is nonbandplan changes.

I'm actually kinda curious if that part of ddDLM has not been switched yet.

Put modem at roadside fed from solar, run ubnt wireless to your house ,

I am pumping vdsl 3kms via a repeater on a hill using ubiquiti gear,

getting 5 x what I can get from copper at the destination

Funny you mention that, I've been toying with that very idea
I can loose 400m of Cat3 cable
Now that 17a profile is possible, I should pull finger out and do it

I deal with ubiquiti gear at work, installing remote sensors, so right at home with it.
I'll see what 11ac PtP gear Ubiquiti have.

Few of us are upto this...

Best way on chorus side seems to be run 049 up to mushroom and chorus Wil not rip your backside and wallet to install.

Alternative is of course splicing but they seem not keen on anyone doing this.

ddDLM does not inherently mean your speed will change at all.

Those with lines that are suited for the changes being made will improve however.

I'm not exactly convinced the schedule is going to plan yet.

Mainly based off how vdsl is only appearing to be adjusting bandplqns currently and using the old dlm system otherwise.

Adsl connections appear to have slowed down with profile switches too..

All opinionated positioning though, i could be looking typically at the last 100000 customers by chance...

Given the stumbles with ddDLM freaking out on some connections i do wonder if the break is on till a solution is pinpointed.

meh not sure if this is a result of these changes but my line speed has dropped from 36mb/s to 27mb/s after the last connection loss, no upload loss thank god, still sitting at 6mb/s there! Will leave it a few days and see what happens otherwise i might force a reconnect and see if it will resync better.

certainly is possible, on a longer line you would expect to see a loss of downstream on 17a due to lower power levels.

atleast on my line DLM understood the situation and moved back to 8b.

Give it time to settle maybe?

I work in IT too, and can feel the "oops" moment when things do not go as planned.

A bit of an update for my VDSL connection.  Before the change on 29/04, I was on 70 down/30 up.  After the change 70 down/17 up.  Got a resync today, 70 down/20 up.

I wish Chorus can bring my old speed back.  =-)

Interesting to hear you are getting latency movements.
