So you're using the Draytek as a modem; and the Netgear as the router? I would have thought you'd use the Draytek as Modem+Router and then just used a switch in the house, making the two UBNT radios part of your 'internal' network - then they can just pickup DHCP addresses from the Draytek and be like any other device on your network.

Had thought about that, but wasn't sure about everything getting sorted out by road and coming back again would do to performance

what do you mean? anything in the house that needs to connect to anything else just goes via the switch/wifi device in the house. anything external still have to go via the road obviously.

Hmm, you can browse into the web interface on the Draytek from behind the Netgear though? Assuming you can do that, I would have expected the radios to be visible too.

I just tested this here with a random TP-Link router (which happens to be on 192.168.3.x) and I was able to browse into devices that are on 192.168.1.x behind it.

My current R7000 Network and WAN setup
I can only reach the modem through the WAN port as currently setup
The radio's are only reachable if I put WAN cable in laptop, change IP to same range

Have done some quick 101 study on networking, as I have a managed switch, having the DV130 dish out the IPs, would work
Just that the DV130 is a great modem but not such a great router

You may find the radios are only opening the interface to a single subnet;

Try forcing nat to WAN on your R7000 there.

I also have an R7000 running Tomato. The route modem IP option only allows access to that single IP address, even if you have the radios on the same subnet as the modem.

Looking forward to seeing more photos of the set up.

Found a work around to look at each device one at a time.
In the 'Route Modem IP' place what ever device IP you want to look at

In my case:
192.168.1.1 = Modem
192.168.1.2 = AP
192.168.1.3 = Station

The interweb still comes in via WAN
I can live with this

UPDATE
Very handy, just updating FW to latest version with no switching cables, all done from comfy seat watching telly

Alrighty, decided to go home early today, to get some daylight to get some things done.

Sorted the Solar panel not charging (wonky MC4 connector)
Added another pole to antenna at Road end (now 4m high)
Aligned road side dish to house where that Dish will end up, currently 30m to the right of house looking from road

Weather is still very cold and drizzly, but Solar panel putting enough charge out to deliver about 2-3amps into battery
Was getting quite dire at 11.9v but no charging since I installed it all at start of this thread.

Some piccies of road side bits
Here we have the box beside pillar, antenna is 35m to the right

Here is view of road side antenna looking at house, you can see red roof if you zoom in
To the right of house is the current receiving antenna with weather station above it.
I'll move antenna to house roof, to remove that outdoor LAN cable, job for sub
Excuse cable, bit ugly but am going to use the cable from house to that antenna over here, as 30m cable was not long enough and 5m extension is what you see here, but good in the intererm

Here is new Connection speed, with antenna no longer pointing into space (from doing it in the dark)

Actual throughput is somewhat lower but more than fast enough for my DSL

daaammm well done! You have that radio link dialed in very nicely.

Looking at the landscape though I am super surprised VDSL is even option!!... now someone please tell me how sucky NZ broadband is.

No potential issue with someone nicking off with the box? And any plans for keeping the heat inside the box under control in summertime?

Rain slowed up enough to do some more work
Got the antenna now on gable of house, temp cable running along outside of house
Will wire up internally when I get a chance.

Roadside antenna now has intended Outdoor Cat6 cable and no longer that ugly joining piece
When digger up to do the back yard, make a trench and finish that off

Yes already thought about someone nicking off with the entire box
I have a 100x10mm Aluminium washer, that I'll us to mount the box to the wooden post with a 100x10mm wood screw
If they really want the box then nothing will stop enough determination

As for heat, that I've also been thinking about (but not very much as snow falls on the hills)
I'll tackle that in a few months, may need to drill some holes in the case under lid over hang

A couple of PC case fans with a hole and grille in each end of the box would be a good option. As long as you can keep it water tight.

Quick update just over 2 weeks since the shift.

Battery - Solar panel are working a treat, enough sun to keep battery topped up
Got a battery temp monitor coming so can charge at appropriate levels for time of year.
Still waiting on Solar panel frame, made a change here and have it tilting to allow for sun angles at certain times of year.

Modem chugs away 24/7 with no issues
R7000 must have done a PPPoE resync at some point early this morning not sure why, modem has been synced for 10 days
Do miss the Twice weekly ddDLM tweaks, as I'm stuck on 900+ Interleave depth.

2x Ubiquiti Litebeams have been working flawlessly

One addition to LAN family, just ordered from Ebay a ERLite-3, good price so took plunge
Now the good times begin and fiddling to set it up
I'll retire the R7000 to just Wifi duties
Once this is here need to sort the UPS and what it runs
A question for ERLite users, how will this get on to seeing devices infront of WAN port ?
ie I can set Tomato 'Route modem IP' to a different subnet and see modem, can I do this on the ERLite ?
Ideally if the ERLite can see the 2x Litebeams even better
