Seems we're not done with this. I got home today to find Chorus had been on my property and installed a new copper lead-in! There was a tenancy inspection about a week ago and I guess after that the landlord would have demanded Chorus come out.

Given it has been gone for 115 days / almost 4 months, does this count as a new installation, and therefore I could insist it be removed? Obviously the landlord is being a dick and the lead-in has not been missed. This new lead-in is not attached at the pole, just tied off doing nothing.

I'm not going to march out and cut it down as that seems dumb, looking for thoughts from those who understand the Telecommunications Act a bit better before I hit Chorus up tomorrow about it.

Sure does, once they decommissioned it (it was them, yes?) they lost the easement. and anyhow it is is not in the same place as the historical one... and they damaged your tree/fence whatever and you demand to see someone at your place. Basically act like an ass. They will give in (as long as they are not reading this) 🤪

Hey Bender.

Just curious if you managed to get this resolved in the end after they reinstated the cable.

Yep it's gone again. Chorus denied any knowledge of reinstating it but with a bit of pressure had a tech out same day to take it down again, pull the copper cabling off the pole, and cut it off in the footpath pit so it can't return.
