As a result of this, 4g seems the only option so far Ive found most competitive are:

Wireless Nation $90, Trustpower $84, Netspeed (unknown yet). Need about 60Gb data.

We ended up using a WISP and although it was by no means inexpensive, because I had them do a private radio connection so that we were not sharing speed, the service has been top notch and the responses pretty awsome.

Hi, I would use a WISP over 4G any day, the 150G plan for $85 is not so bad.

Yep, that looked good, but unfortunately its a 12 month contract.

Have you contacted a service provider and asked for a new xDSL connection to be installed? When we built a house years ago, I contacted my current ISP at the time and put an order in.

Yes, we have just put a deposit on a piece of land and this is covered off in the resource consent for the subdivision - electricity and telecommunications connections must be provided to Lots by the developer. Suggest you approach the developer and/or WBOPDC for a copy of the resource consent and see what it says.

Edit to say that even a quick call to Western Bay (ask for a planner) and they will probably be able to tell you whether or not this is normally a requirement. Further reading of the resource consent pertaining to our land says that the developer has to provide written confirmation from the supply authorities to the council. May be different over your side of the hill.

Thats interesting. My place had copper up the driveway, but being a subdivision Chorus didn't have any spare copper in the street. Took ages to get fibre because the idiot developer had direct buried our copper cable, so the fibre needed consent of everybody before anything could happen.

Time to find a new industry!
