Hi everyone, Woosh has launched bundle wired broadband and landline plans called BUNDLE OF JOY, Check out from $69 a month for your landline rental and 1GB FS/FS broadband service.

Woosh is partnering with Telecom's wholesale to offer the same market leading pricing on home phone and broadband bundles to all parts of New Zealand, with cities and towns outside Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch at last gaining the same low pricing as the main centres.

I have seen other 'deals' around the country, but sometimes the catch is higher calling rates or data top up charges. So if you are reading this, why don't you have a look at your home bill and compare if you can make some savings? If you can't be bothered comparing bills, tell me the following and I can analysis the potential savings for you.

Grab an old telephone, calling & broadband bill for a past one month period

This was launched only last month (May 2009). Not many people know about it yet, because use below the line marketing to cut through to targetted markets in the country. Woosh never used to offer phone line rental service and bundle it up with Telecom's wired broadband service.

I forgot to say also if you use this promo code 13C654 (from the link above) during online sign up, they will give you a $20 credit. This is a Woosh staff friends and family offer only, so you won't see this code advertised in many other places at all.

Does anyone know what the data overage charge per gig is?

Edit: sorry, found it in the faq.  $5 1GB, $10 5GB, $20 10GB.

The top up prices are pretty good. Also Woosh has launched two new bundle of joy plans:
* 50GB broadband and homephone bundle for $134/month and
* 100GB broadand and homephone bundle for $184/month

These are not available via online sign up but only via their call centre 0800 49 66 74.

I'm considering signing up for this package. Does anyone know if Whoosh offer an option to extend local calling areas? They seem to be using the same 'local' calling area map as Telecom.

I'm currently with Telecom and pay an extra $5/month for 'Talk it up Neighbouring Area' - I live about 15km outside Christchurch which is classed as 'National' - of course the majority of my calls are to this area

The Woosh Bundle of Joy service has the exactly the same local calling areas as Telecom’s. The local calling area details are available here:

As you call national/regional minutes regularly, Woosh offers capped calling plans that would fit your needs while saving money:

  • "Waffle 300" for $9.95 a month in additional to your Bundle of Joy plan - gives you 300 inclusive national calling minutes;

  • "Waffle Unlimited" for $19.95 a month in additional to your Bundle of Joy plan - gives you unlimited national minutes every month (Fair use policy applies).

Plus, if you get a Waffle calling plan with Bundle of Joy, you also qualify for unlimited 29c/min landline to mobile calls.

Standard national call rate is 10c/min and landline to mobile rate is 45c/min. The detailed Woosh calling rates are here:
