To see my general location, go to Telecom Wholesale maps and search for the POY/M cabinet.
Unfourtently the speed is very poor -- despite the Orcon-supplied modem synching at 14mbits I can only achieve ~3mbits peak and ~5mbits off-peak to speedtest.net (WXC). Seems to be some issue with the handover from Telecom to Orcon thats causing the speed issues.
So I'm considering switching to Woosh Wireless since it is much cheaper and I would only have to deal with one provider for my broadband (instead of having to deal with Telecom, Orcon, et al). Woosh offers a good deal at $60 for 20GB vs paying over $100 on most ADSL providers for the same amount of data.
However I want to find out what Woosh Wireless service is like in my area. I'm guessing that my house would be in the service area of the Eden Terrace site on New North Road (with the Arch Hill site on Great North Road being another possible alternate).
I read a thread where it was stated that the Symonds Street site suffers from congestion issues -- is there any similar issues with the Eden Terrace or Arch Hill sites?
Is it possible for Woosh to loan me a modem so I can test the service here?
