Do you use the analogue phone ports on the back? If so do the DTMF tones work? (the tones used for phone banking etc)

Mine don't keep meaning to Google/Ask Snap but haven't had chance yet......

sbiddle:
dynamiccomputers: I have just had VDSL install in Ashburton.  Line attenuation is 21db, am about 750m from the cabinet.
down speed about 16-17Mbps, up speed about 7Mbps.

Snap is the ISP.  I see they have updated their T&C as well , their old info the other day said no contract if existing ADSL user, not they have changed it.

Installation charge seems excessive, given the installer does less than ADSL, think they are charging a premium just because they can.

An install includes compulary installation of a VDSL2 filter.

I'm actually surprised your install was done, as once again that's excessive attenuation which has the potential to cause an impact on the network and speeds don't fall anywhere near Telecom wholesale targets.

No VDSL filter installed at our office, since it's naked bb one isn't required according to installed.

You don't have a very good connection there. While the remedial CRC error figure isn't excessively high, it's not good either, which will be caused by the excessive attenuation.

Your connection would be vastly superior on ADSL2+, you'll get significantly better downstream speeds, but won't get the greater upstream speeds.

ADSL2 is a lot slower, about 10m down and .8 up.

Upstream sure but downstream line rate for 21dB on ADSL2+ should also be around 17Mbit, something was probably wrong if you were only getting 10Mbit on ADSL2+.

Well finally got VDSL connection up at my first location but results are disappointing (as I was beginning to expect). Much worse upload than our ADSL connection.

Next one is going in on Monday, but attenuation is good there so should be more successful!

The port training alters regurarly with vdsl.  i find mine resets about 4am and retrains the port since install about a week ago.  each day the speeds are getting higher.
if you find the speeds don't improve then log fault with isp.

Finally got my Snap connectio upgraded to VDSL.

My connection handshakes at 44.1Mb down and 9.9Mb up.

Remote connections to this IP are certainly very fast! (ie terminal server)

Will download via usenet and see what my maxed out connection can do...

[EDIT] Maxed out my connection at 3.3MB/s @ 3.20pm, and still managed to complete the following speedtest at the same time:

We got our VDSL2 connection going yesterday (from Snap), similar speeds:

Having a few issues with ipv6 at the moment, but trying to get some support from Snap.

So far, loving the connection and the Fritzbox, Snap support and customer service could be improved a lot.

Nice, mind posting up your line stats from the modem?

Can interleaving be turned off or is this not an option that ISP's support yet?

jnimmo: Anyone who has played with the Fritz!Box able to tell me whether the device can act in half bridge mode, or turn off NAT - so I can get a public IP address presented on ethernet0?

It will run in bridge mode yes, just set it to run as a DSL modem:

Has anyone tried this? I can't get a PPPoE connection from the client, this was a straight swap for a Thomson that has been working fine in bridge mode.

Do you see any option like this in the Fritz box?

Internet -> DSL Information -> Interference Resistance

Apparently there are some sliders which you can move for stability or performance.

Snapped this from the net. From Fritzbox 7390
