I've recently been learning PHP for my website.
I would recommend starting off with something small and then moving up to more complicated scripts. <- Get books out from your local library, read guides online. Theres lots of information out there and lots of different ways to do a lot of things.
What are you aiming to use? Just the PHP or will you be using MySQL?

Thanks NokiaRoacks and JamesForman!!

At the moment the website is written in php but eventually i hope to learn how to make a secure area where our agents can access information held on a remote server. Potentially there will be 10s of thousands of "cards" which an agent may need one or two of from time to time. I assume MySQL would be suited to that?
