Nostalgic. Used to be a must have every month back in the C64 days.

Yep, I remember these. There were also the old Usborne books (scroll down) - I think I borrowed every single one that the library had laughing

You need to watch some of the retro computer youtube vids. The 8-bit guy has some good ones.

The Atara 800XL was far superior to the C64 :)   the designer went onto the Amiga team.

So cool, I remember that machine code for beginners haha.

Remember trying to code games so the tv scan rate matched the screen draw rate... so onscreen movement was smooth.

Ahh yes, the good old SYS "OS_Byte", 19 to wait for VSync on an Acorn :)

No idea how to do it on a C64.

My favourite part of old computer magazines is the exceptionally good quality images they had on the cover, which didn't represent the quality of the graphics on the computer AT ALL.  Same with game boxes through the ages until recent years when graphics caught up with imagination.

I had a bunch of Amiga magazines but I suppose my parents threw them out by now.  One of my prized possessions is an original marketing booklet for the Apple Lisa.
