I have a desktop PC that I use 3 or so times a week, I shut it down last night as usual but tonight it wont boot saying Disk boot failure, I tired a restart and NVR (something something) failure came up then I reboot and disk boot failure. Without reformatting and reinstalling is there anything else I can do.

I have a Asus Motherboard, IDE channel0 msater is WDC WD400BB - Boot CD and IDE Channel 3 master ST3750640NS

You havent left a USB flash drive plugged in have you?
Its not trying to boot from that?

Otherwise - takethe disk out and try and put it in another computer and see if it will spin up and can be accessed.

nah, no usb drives ect. no change in the configuration from one day to next. Hopefully I didnt want to pull the system apart

Well it is certainly worth opening it up and unplugging, then plugging back in all the connectors - just to make sure somethings not a bit loose - It can happen....
