I've been using Ubuntu 11.04 and have no problems, if you have a small screen the sidebar may get annoying, but you can easily change it to only work on rollover in the top left corner of the screen, rather than the whole left 10% of the screen..

Yeah running Ubuntu 11.04 here as well.

Enjoying it apart from the annoying bar over the left hand side.
Haven't been that bothered to change it but it always seems to get in the way.

Go to the top right corner and click the power button, then down to system settings at the bottom, once open click "launcher + menus" under the "personal" heading and hey presto :-)

Makes a world of difference.

Have used Ubuntu for a while Starting to catch up to Windows from ease of use and installing new programs
I am now trying Linux Mint 11.00.  Quite smart as well.  Finds all my cameras and printers Quite like the setup with control centre etc.  Very much like Windosws.  Still very much a windows 7 fan but if you need a free OS Then either of these two would be suitable.

good to hear,
i had a earlier version of it  a couple of years ago till i changed computers then got windows 7, I'm going to change over in a few days I'm just sick of windows getting bloated all the time, probably my fault , but its allot harder to get malwear and spywear so i can keep my system running fast.

I got rid of the "Unity" interface with it's lame sidebar and endless click-athon to get to things that used to be easy to find.

Switch back to "Ubuntu Classic". You won't regret it.

On start up - when you enter ubuntu user/password etc - at bottom of screen taskbar once clicked will always load classic as default unless you want to change back.
