I have an Apache and would love to be able to print directly to my Canon I80 printer via infrared. Downloaded a trial version of software which claimed to be able to do this (Printboy version 7) but have not yet had success.
Firstly, though the website states CanonI80 supported, there is no I80 driver setup option in the download. Took the closest option (Canon I70) but hasn't worked.

When I select a pocket word document to print it attempts to connect to a website to convert the document, then reports that it could not connect to the FilePoint server. 2 problems here, (1) according to the documentation no conversion should be necessary for a Pocket Word doc, and (2) if conversion was needed it cannot connect.
Would love to here from anyone who knows how to make PrintBoy work for me, or who knows of other software that may do the job. (Couldn't find a mobile windows driver for nthe Canon I80 on the Canon website.)

Or am I attempting something which can't be done?

Cheers

Does PrintBoy work on Windows Mobile 5? There are plenty of programs for printing under Windows Mobile, but of course we can't say which one works or not. But if you test them, you could post a list...

Hmmm. It should work under WM5, since the screenshot is clearly one of a Windows Mobile 5 device (or emulator).

Interesting - that's one thing I've never tried actually, printing straight from the WM device. Always copied things over to the host computer first, but I guess it could be useful in some situations to print from the phone. There are phones that support the USB PICTBridge like the Nokia 6680/1/2 and Samsung SCP-9000, or can talk straight to printers via the IR port but can't see that functionality in the Apache. Try PrintBoy, like Mauricio says...

Definitely got nowhere with PrintBoy.
Late into the night found a website for JETCET Print (www.westetek.com) and downloaded their application which had within it the specific drivers for my I80. And it worked! Printed without difficulty direct via infrared. Limited in what it could print though. Searched further and found an associated suite of applications (also from Westtek) called Clearview Office (includes excel, word and poweroint readers) which you can print easily from. Still edit the documents in Excel & Word mobile but view and print in clearview. Well pleased with the find. Have downloaded the 15 day trial versions,  purchasing will cost $8.95 and $24.95 respectively (I assume $US).

JETCET is one of the results in that link I posted before. You can purchase it from our Geekzone Software Store (and help us). It costs US$8.95:
