I'm having a look at getting a HTC 8X since it appears that Nokia/Carriers haven't got their act together in terms of supplies. Anyway, Mobicity has the HTC 8X but my main concern is that although it is unlocked I don't want to end up in a situation as with the case of unlocked AT&T phones where the sim lock is removed but one can't actually change many of the settings of the phone. I've also heard people talk about Clove and wondering whether I should go through them - I used Mobicity's online chat and it appears it is an automated bot rather than a real person answering questions that I pose to it.

Any feedback would be welcome.

I've used Clove before. Excellent service and fast shipping from the UK, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Are their phones 100% unlocked - that you can change all their settings?

Mobicity makes the same claim about their AT&T branded phone yet not everything can be modified due to the phone being locked down hence my inquiry.

Whilst we're on the same topic - the HTC 8S, does it support 64GB microsd cards?

I have recently been in Seattle and purchased a Verizon HTC 8X from the Microsoft Store, they had an engineer advise me it was completely unlocked unlike the AT and T ones. However I have had a few issues with Internet Tethering on mine and cannot get access to the ROM to change the setttings. I can view them and see there are Verizon Settings but cannot edit. I am currently working through this with HTC support (who have been VERY responsive)

I was not able to get a 64GB SDXC card to work. I have not tried a SDHC card though,
