I have just re-installed xp pro and sp2 and want to connect Belkin bluetoth dongle for phone connectivity etc. I read the articles on sp2 problems that can be encountered and did not load any of the software that came with the dongle. However there is no Bluetooth icon in control panel. Is there some way to manually activate it?

I have tried this but no joy. XP detects a new device but does not recognise it. Should I usethe drivers that came with the device....?

This may happen if the device is from the older versions, not connected directly to a USB port (these devices do not like USB HUB), or the USB is disabled in the BIOS, or it's an old VIA motherboard (these had lots of problems with USB).
