I am new to the Bluetooth scene and have been desperately trying to connect my Ipaq 2215 to my Tecom BT3021 access point.

http://www.tecomproduct.com/bt3021.htm

The access point is hooked directly into my Lynksys router which is connected to my cable modem. Every time I try to connect to the access point, my Ipaq wants to dial a phone number. I’m pretty much a newbie and any help would be great.

Thanks

It seems that your Bluetooth Access Point is not configured to give the appropriate information for your Pokcet PC.

I've found on Tecom's pages they have a Locator program to configure the Access Point. If you haven't done so, make sure you install it and run to check the configuration on this Access Point.

Next, to configure your iPaq, you can follow one of our Bluetooth Guides (like this one) from the point where the Pocket PC configuration starts.

I have a Bluetake Bluetooth Access Point and the Pocket PC configuration is the same as the one described there. If you follow it and still have problems, then you'll definetely have to check the Access Point configuration.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!! HURRAY

I got everything configured and it still wasn’t working. I finally realized that I must input the correct username and password to gain Internet access through the access point. I figured they would link up and that would be it, but inept me didn’t think the username and password mattered. If anyone bought a Tecom Bluetooth access point to use with their LAN and needs help feel free to email me (bill_und@yahoo.com) or simply reply to this posting.

A special thanks goes out to Mauricio Freitas for the excellent assistance !!!
