Has anyone picked up one of these? They seem to be trying to natively support connections to other devices (unlike the MS one without some serious hacks). I guess it's been released now, so I was just wondering if anyone has gotten one and initial thoughts...

I haven't had the time to try one myself - I keep asking Logitech Australia but can't get one for a review. Will keep trying though.

AFAIK they're using Widcomm 1.4 drivers, so it's pretty much the standard Bluetooth support we find in other good devices.

Microsoft will release the Windows XP SP2 sometime in 2004, and that'll add support to other profiles. So I was told by someone from Microsoft, and during the Bluetooth Americas 2003 (check our report.

I bothered registering to reply to this one,

Just got the DiNovo desktop, first real use for bluetooth I could find as Nokia F*****d around on protocol compatibility, Upgraded 6310i to 5.5 and now have desktop + phone working smoothly. Addon Keypad v handy when you have pleanty of mp3's, sorts them itself and has good software for scrolling pics and videos too.

Using Widcomm 2.1... no prpblems so far, only one is F keys displayed in dark blue so difficult to see in poor light, more like using a laptop keypad

Have a good one...

Yeah, I agree with the Thanks. I'm glad to see that you could get it connected with your phone without a huge hack =)

Shano >> I have also the DiNovo Media Desktop and a Nokia 6310i with software version 5.51. But I don't manage to get it working with the logitech mobile suite or with the nokia pc suite 4.88

What did you do to get things working?

According to Nokia, you need upgrade 5.5 on the phone to get it working, also disable discovery on the widcomm bluetooth configuration panel

Hope that helps

How do I find out if my Logitech blutooth hub uses widcomm and if so where can I go to get it updated?

All Logitech Bluetooth products use Widcomm software, and currently they have the latest version (1.4). If an update is available in the future you'll find it in the Logitech web site.
