Interesting comment. The problem is that most have problems and post here. But the ones with no problems don't post success stories. Can't really say the postings reflects the real life situation in terms of failure/success rates...

well first of all, bluetooth product is "new" on the market......not everyone has it . i own a ericsson r520, which has BT and then use voicechat on yahoo time to time. i discover that by using BT dongle and BT headset it would be "wireless". so decide it to use. the stuff should be at my house 1-2days from now. if this works then i would check out more BT stuff.(maybe build a small wireless LAN for internet). btw nice forum, never thought that you guys have forum for bluetooth stuffs.

one more thing, what is the widcomm thing? drivers comp. or what?

Bluetooth devices need drivers and software, like any other hardware you connect to your computer. Widcomm makes them, like XTNDConnect, Bluesoleil and other manufacturers. The Widcomm seems to be the most popular ones.

Thanks for the compliments!

Hello,

I've also tried to use the Plantronics M3000 for voice chat over IP but the problem I have is that I can't get the microphone to work properly. Bizarrely, I can record my voice using it with sound recorder but for some reason when I try to set up the audio profile in control panel, it keeps saying that it cannot hear my voice.

I'm running XP using a Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter (Model F8T003).

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Lundi

hey :)

1) close the program u gonna use it like Yahoo. now start you bluetooth so you can hear or see it activate. now open the program u like to use with.

for eample: yahoo voice chat with headset M3000

1) close the yahoo if it is on.
2 activate the m3000 by press "answer" button and wait to XP send a sound notice
3 open yahoo again.

you have to close it again if you gonna use speak/mic. every starts up after u activate will hear on m3000

Thanks for your swift reply,

Here's what happens:- I do exactly as you say. I disconnect everything bluetooth from my laptop, I close down Netmeeting and then start from scratch. I insert the USB dongle, I get it to connect to the bluetooth headset, and can hear it connect. I then open Netmeeting and try to go through the audio tuning wizard. It get's as far as the point where I can hear the volume test for the earpiece but then the wizard says that "Your sound card does not support a microphone volume control.

No, I haven't tried yahoo but if the sound card isn't recognised, do you think this will make a difference?
