Envious ( seem to be the only online distributor for Insteon home automation gear.

I placed an order on their site on April 25, and the order status still shows as 'not sent'. I'm not getting replies to queries about the order status. My credit card was charged on April 26.

What are others' experiences? And/or, do you know any alternative supplier for Insteon gear?



edit: Also was considering Z-wave, and previously found the local reseller but it would appear they have not renewed their domain, it is "pending release"!

NZ, and am looking to get started, automating lighting in one room before deciding whether to automate more.

Was settled on Insteon but if their only AU/NZ reseller I can find isn't reliable, will consider alternatives.

I had purchased a Hub, a remote, and plug-in and in-wall switch and dimmer modules to get started but as above I'm still waiting on their arrival and/or a response from Envious as to what's happening with my order.

No knowledge of that retailer but I'd suggest contacting Insteon through their NZ/AU website to discuss the supply reliability problem. I have found the Insteon site to be very responsive to queries.

Ah I finally got a reply...

Thanks for your email, and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.


Your order has had to be put on hold as we were waiting on some information from the INSTEON, who have identified issues with the hub and plug-in modules.  We are unable to ship until newly manufactured product is received, which we expect in approximately 3 weeks.


I have just now refunded your payment and will leave your order on hold.  I’ll be in touch when the goods are cleared for dispatch to ask whether you’d still like to proceed with the order.


We are committed to making sure our customer’s INSTEON experience is the best it can be.  Thanks for your patience while we work to make that happen.
