SpookyAwol: "No officer, I wasnt using my phone to read text messages"  ;-)

hmm that could be handy :)

Sorry officer no I wasn't using my phone, and I am really sorry my inattention to the road caused this accident which has caused the death of this family.

Is it really that important to read your text message right now?

Another couple of useful/fun apps are

Wear Mini Launcher
and
Wear Camera

Wear Camera lets you take remote photos with your phones camera and is free to boot!!
Doesn't do video, but does stream an image as you set the shot up.
Even has a timer

After playing with watchmaker and getting the premium version I can recommend that as well now.

Another one for Wear Mini Launcher, it also has a built in phone ringer so you can always find your phone with your watch.

Just look out for watchmaker, I had it installed on my one+ and it would kill the gps after an hour or so meaning you had to reboot the phone to get gps again.

So some good watch faces

Odyssey
Weather watchface
Angles
IW forecast
Pujie Black
Porsche
Richface Notifier
Skymaster

A48 and F04 also look interesting however I have not installed these yet as I am waiting to pick up my R watch today (currently have the sony)

Also remember the device has 4gigs storage so you can put some music on it, to do this you need to download your playlist from google music (using the play music app).  THere is a setting in google music app to sync to wearable, don't expect it to happen fast however, it can take a few hours depending on playlist, best just to leave the watch and phone sitting somewhere and it will pop up a message when it sync'd.  You can then use wear mini launcher to open up music.  Remember to pair your bluetooth headset first however (under settings of watch).

Now the only problem with this is that you can't pick the playlist to sync, its all or nothing.  If you are like me and want most of your music on your phone what I do is use spotify for most of my downloaded music then google music app for music i want on the watch.

Just received my shiny new LG GWR. The first thing that caught me out when I disconnected my SW3 and connected the GWR was that half the stuff I was used to on the Sony didn't seem to be working. I eventually stumbled on the fact that the watch needed to have is firmware updated to 5W. Once that was done all was good again.

First impressions
GWR not as big on my wrist as I thought.
Strap not as comfortable as the SW3.
Will need to be careful on watchface selection to prevent burn in.
I have got used to the trans reflective display on the SW3 and the GWR seems awfully bright in comparison.
There are heaps more watch faces for round watches than there are for square.

I like that the GWR has a multi time zone watch face out of the box. I have had to build one using Watchmaker Premium to get that on the SW3.

MODS: Now that this deal has produced a critical mass of GZers that own wearables, and the imminent arrival of the Apple Watch (not to mention all the fitness trackers now available, and the venerable Pebble) perhaps it is time to have a separate wearables forum in the mobile devices section? Just to prevent wearables being scattered over 4-5 forums like they are at the moment.

status of mine with courier post is "reprocessing"
And also has this
"Your item has not yet been received into the CourierPost network.
Please use the 'Notify Me' function to get updates after the item is collected."

I have it being sent to a store so hoping to get it around 3pm today on my way home.

Thanks a lot for sharing which apps you guys are using. Im still waiting for mine to be delivered (scheduled for today). I was hoping to use this watch to track my running activity (was looking at getting the Fitbit, but this deal works quite well for me). Just wondering what are other scenarios people would use their smart watch for?

For those who have this watch, hows the battery life? Does it last more than a day?

It's pretty good for outdoor running, but not on a treadmill sadly. I got mine on Friday and been tinkering with it, downloading new watch faces and apps seem to drain the battery a lot. it does last me a bit more than a day with heavy use.

sleep tracking works pretty well, I no longer have to have my phone near my head when I sleep.

only gripe is the voice command doesn't work too well for me.

tinder on it is pretty great though :P

what apps do you guys have on it?

Reven - easy to setup tasker? Does it just tie into your existing tasker profiles/tasks?

yeah I just the Tasker instructions mention here

For the server:port, I specified
https://[username]@[password]:[server]:[port]

t
hen the rest was the same.

Create 3 items for my alarm,

Arm Away, command Alarm_Away=ON
Arm Home, command Alarm_Home=ON
Alarm Off, command Alarm_Away=OFF (which also disarms the home aswell).

so very simple to use, I never used tasks in tasker before (everything was automatic) so the only things that come up are the stuff I actually want to use on the watch :)

Hi Reven, what alarm are you using? I'd like to set this up from watch and phone.

Ok cool - so how are you activating those tasks? Voice commands?

I have a few tasker tasks setup - i.e. 'Coffee on' and 'Coffee off' turns the coffee machine on/off.

Found the 'Start...' apps option now. Can start Tasker and have setup a few favourites. Works well.

Also noticed Yatse has a nice little Wear app. This is pretty cool!

Think I figured it out - can only do up to 3 tasks using voice - 'Start task 1-3'. Will link them to my most used and should be away.
