Has anyone had a look at this yet: https://github.com/tartanguru/alexa-assistant

I've been trying to set it up for a couple of nights and all I get when I invoke 'Alexa, open google' is Alexa saying 'Sorry i'm having trouble, please try in a little while'

It looks like a really nice implementation that should add a fair bit of depth to how to ask Alexa things. It's not majorly different to the Raspberry Pi Google Assistant, but I don't need a Pi.

Looks pretty impressive. But also looks to be quite a complex installation procedure. Shame Google don't release this sort of thing as an off-the-shelf Skill you can install.

Yeah, the process isn't too outrageous to install it. It took me about 20min the first time I tried, then 15min the second. It's primarily an exercise in copy pasting.

Nope, heh. So perhaps it's more onerous to install than I thought.

I have setup one of these types of manual skills before and remember it was a real ball ache. Avoid them at all costs now!
