01EG: Why I cant find a way to connect SmartThing WiFi to my existing WiFi router as extender? or it must create another/nmew WiFi network and there is nothing I can do?

Did you resolve this? I can't see anything online about just using it as a hub without using the wifi part of it. I want to keep my google mesh working.

I switched it into Bridge mode, just enter exact SSID and password and the hub should switch into, but you still need the ethernet connection anyway as I understood. I solved by problem buying addition cheap Wifi edimax router which set as Wifi bridge to my Asus router and placed the Hub in the hallway.
If you know any other way how to setup it let me know. My understanding that the Smatthing hub is a router itself and having more then one you can build the mesh network too.

ah yes Bridge mode, found this link, Bridge mode Smartthings

I am hoping it might connect over wifi but if it can't I think it might work if it connects via ethernet cable to the google wifi... it's getting crowded in the cupboard now!

Link doesn't seem to stick so here it is longform

Hi team,
I'm new to the Geekzone community and plan to add my introduction soon but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents regarding this topic as I've been following it since even before I was a member.

My background is retail and I work heavily with Samsung reps.
I've had word that Samsung is aiming for the end if the year or early 2020 for an NZ Smartthings release in terms of product, and a longer term goal is that every product sold by Samsung will eventually have the capability too.

Holding off my overseas hub order for this :)

Really good news, I would love to buy one more starter kit + sensors. Now price is low then before, $249AUD ~ $267NZD

That would be great, I am already in process but it would be good to have the support off shelf in the country. It seems that these things are very slow to get here

Noelleming taking the pre-orders for Samsung Smart-things Hub for 149$ at the Massive Sellout ASB Show grounds.

I pre-ordered mine for 149$. As per the conversation I had with the Samsung guy, this product is available from Noelleeming and Spark. And its available from 7th October 2019.

Just been into my local NL. The salesman knew what I was talking about and was able to look it up on their system. At the moment they are coming, but no eta. Price was confirmed at $149.99 but the package only contains the hub and a power supply. I think the “starter pack” referenced earlier in this thread had some extra HA bits included.

Edit: The local Spark store had no idea.

Hey guys - I'm going to lock this and encourage you to post to the existing thread as it is somewhat off topic for this thread: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=73&topicid=257355
