freitasm: I know about the terror link and almost posted it... But waited.
MikeB4: They also used shoes, duct tape and bottles.
You jest, but that is not a generalisation. Several terrorists used the Casio F-91W because it is easy to modify and use as time detonators.

Stu:@jonathan18:Same for me, but only $5 for delivery. I know both Wellington region stores have stock, but they were the only ones in my neck of the woods.

No matter where you go, there you are.
The evidence is not conclusive. You would need three watches and see which number is common between two of them to conclude which one is wrong. At the moment either could be wrong...
We will need to see a photo of your arm with three watches.

For those interested in controlled testing of the metrics measured by various sports watches, I highly recommend the YouTube channel called The Quantified Scientist.
dcrainmaker.com also does some good testing although I don't think he covers step counts as this is not something that sports enthusiasts would generally be interested in.

Challenge accepted!
My sense is accuracy between watches primarily comes down to how well they determine what is a true step as opposed to general arm movement, as there's not a huge amount of variance in straight-out step counting when walking proper. As I really do like the Withings it does look like I'm looking at having to fit in a decent amount more walking to make up for its counting, though...
And, thank god, I've run out of arm space to fit another watch!
Great effort but you're doing it wrong. For best accuracy it should be strapped just above an ankle ;p

That explains the scary-looking guys I sometimes see at Countdown. They're just out for a walk!
