The wife is looking at selling her iphone and has asked me what it is worth so wondering what the GZ team think. Have had a look at TM and am more confused than before, have narrowed down a priceband of $500~$800 hence this post!!

It is a Spark sourced jobbie, black, 64gb, 20 months old. 9/10 condition

Have you considered doing a $1 reserve? I sell all my iPhones that way and always get good money. $1 reserve auctions attract a lot of people and the iPhone is a popular item anyway so with yours being in good condition it should sell well. Plus you get people addicted to the bidding especially at the end which often drives the price up.

a 32 GB 5s is $999 new so I reckon that you'd easily get $800 for a 64 gig in good condition.

If I was paying close to 800 I would pay a bit more and get an iPhone 6.I wouldn't pay extra for the extra storage. So I think closer to the 600 mark but on trade me people can pay high prices. Good time to sell though with the new iPhone due out in a few months.

Thanks all. she was talking about letting it go for $500 but I have suggested $600 which seems fair for both seller and buyer

Back in years gone by there was always plenty of dollar auctions etc on TM so you could see selling trends but these days it looks like resellers trying to capitalise with insane start prices and no bids

Yep, my $800 suggestion includes the "Trade Me tax" that people seem so willing to pay! If selling outside Trade Me then $600 is more reasonable.
