Brumfondl:

Apple may restrict Hardware Service and ADH Services to the country where the Covered Equipment was originally purchased.

And even the AppleCare+ page says "Service coverage may be subject to certain restrictions."

Hopefully you will not have any issues :)

Oh, but AppleCare+ is pretty awesome when you are in a country where they can handle it.

I really doubt you would have problems getting Apple to deal with AppleCare+ services for AU bought equipment here in NZ.

Had a phone bought from Apple NZ that had its screen shatter when I was in Norway (mea culpa). They couldn't handle it in Norway, but when I took it to Scotland they replaced the phone *for free*, no charge because they weren't able to charge the cost of the AppleCare+ replacement phone in NZD (apparently, at least at the time, they were only able to charge for services in the same currency as the AppleCare+).

Have not had any problems having Apple cover a MacBook bought in Norway with AppleCare here in New Zealand either.

So in my experience it works pretty well.

It should never be a problem for computers. It can be an issue for some phones but is generally ok. The cellular version of the Apple Watch appears to be its own special snowflake though because it is available in so few markets.

Apple is loosening up on geographic restrictions for AppleCare, I recall reading something about it recently.

Anyone that upgraded from a Series 2 or 3 Apple Watch to the new Series 4...after having had the new Watch for a few days, does it feel like a significant enough upgrade to justify the cost?

I'm off to AU soon and have a Series 2 SS and am keen to look at a Series 4 SS (as they're unavailable here)...but can't work out if the upgrade will be justified.

Not interested in a Series 4 Aluminium, as all my straps and connectors are SS...

The extra screen realestate feels like a big upgrade to me. I notice it every time I look at it. I'm also using the new modular face that has a few more complications on it. I upgraded from a series 3 and I'm very happy I did so.

Estimated delivery for watches via Apple direct looks to be between Nov 11th and 19th at present.

Anyone know when I could expect my credit card to be billed if I ordered tonight? Is it pretty immediate or more like a week out from shipping?

Finally got my AW4.

So, I'm guessing AQI doesn't work in NZ or Wellington? It doesn't display any data for me

Finally went ahead and ordered the 44mm Nike+ Apple Watch in space black with the nylon sport loop.

I opted for the AppleCare+ cover too for $169, which i was feeling a bit reticent about doing, but given my recent good experience with Apple sorting my phone out long after the AppleCare cover on that had expired, I feel fairly justified in the decision.

Delivery is estimated at some 4-5 weeks hence, so I’ll have to settle in for the long wait...

WolfChop:

JEDENZED: So guys, I think I’m ready to break the wheel. When I started this thread I was fully committed to a new iPhone upgrade this cycle.

As I’ve stated earlier, though, I’ve since had my iPhone 6S Plus replaced, at no cost, with a new/refurbished model. A fully functioning battery and an immaculate cosmetic finish, combined with the performance improvements running iOS 12, all mean that I simply can no longer really justify purchasing a 2018 model. I would only go for the XR at any rate, which yes, would have a raft of performance improvements, but in reality, very little that I cannot already do with my trusty 6S Plus.

So, I’m going to go ahead and jump on the wearables bandwagon with a Series 4 Nike+ edition of the watch, enjoy the novelty of a brand new device experience, and see what Team Cupertino come up with next September.

You nearly had me Apple... and I guess you still do really... if it wasn’t for those pesky watches... grrr...

Using a XS now and it honestly just feels like more iPhone. My 6S Plus is sitting in my cupboard but if something were to happen to my XS, I would be able to revert back to the 6S Plus without any issues. So rest assured that you've made a good decision keeping your phone.

As a person who doesn't wear watches at all, the Series 4 completely won me over and now it feels weird when I don't have my Series 4 attached to my wrist. You will not regret it!

I am 1 year older with a 6+ and I've been keen to upgrade for the last few years but like Jedenzed managed to just not quite find the justification... Altogether now: Especially at those prices
This year im going for the XR because of price and I like the colour choices (despite phone cases being a necessity....)

On iWatch: I was a confident early + size iphone adopter since i switching from an already largish android. But one of the main ideas at the time was that I would get a watch so that I didn't have to deal with my clunky big phone all the time.
But, it was series 1. And I had a fresh memory of how the series 1 ipad didn't get very long software upgrade support.
Oh and you had to have your phone with you on your work out for gps tracking I think? Urgh
So 4 years later I know the watches are better and better but I still haven't been able to find a tipping point personally.
Maybe series 5?... A format redesign would probably do it, i know I would get over it once I'm used to it I but just don't like the bulky square.

Anyone taken advantage of 2degrees or spark’s interest free repayment options?
I'm planning on using one since the $39 plans now seen to qualify. Forces me up from $16 per month on skinny but get extra data for that and otherwise seems to be no other hidden catches.
No penalties for early exit (just have to pay up remaining phone cost).

I have with Spark but on the $29 Smart One Bill plan. 300 mins + Unlimited Text + 1GB Data + Spotify premium.
If your nice to the staff they may also give you an extra 1GB Data and 1GB Socialiser Data like I got.
