yeap on my new iphone 3gs which is about 4 months old, fell clean off. I can still use and its under warranty so hopefully it will be covered as there is no cosmetic damage to the phone showing impact damage.

Is there any chance of me paying the difference for an iphone 4 since they dont repair these things?

You will likely receive a refurbished 3GS unit and your 3GS will be repaired and passed onto someone else whose iPhone 3GS fails in the future.

Sorry your chances of upgrading to a 4g are 0%

Unfortunately I agree, this is not something Apple would normally do.

The only way of obtaining an upgrade is to flog your one on Trademe and buy an iPhone 4 outright contract-free.

You'll pay for it and the 3GS might not fetch what you want now it's "old tech", so it's a gamble.

How did your power button 'fall off'?

And no... You will not get a 3GS. If your got it from Vodafone they will send it away for repairs.

What I ment to say was: You will not get a iPhone 4, They will replace with the same current version.
