Hi all,

I used to have an itrip, but it doesn't work with my Iphone 4. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good FM transmitter?

I am going on a road trip this Wednesday, so would prefer to buy it from an actual shop (vs online). However, if the good ones are only available online, I will go for that anyway.

I have so far found one option, at Dick Smith, but found the price pretty steep: $187... Anything cheaper would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Most of them are terrible and give an unusably low signal, this one is one for the few passable ones (asssuming you have a good tuner and car aerial) and does cool stuff like pause when you turn off the ignition: http://www.productwiki.com/griffin-itrip-auto-smartscan/

I use the basic Thomson one http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/audio-mp3/portable-audio-mp3/ipod-accessories/thomson-f-188-ipod-fm-transmitter-with-car-charger/prod100744.html

Not the greatest quality but it does the job.

I had a griffin itrip from Harvey Norman, but was junk, too quiet, and battery wouldnt hold charge. They eventually swapped it for a Belkin Tunecast. It is AWESOME. Good sound and the battery charger is a proper 1A charge for a quick top up. They had them on special at Harvey Norman recently for $85ish. My mate got one after trying mine.
