Quick comment: I made myself a pair using the earplugs and they seem to do the job. Couple of points 1. I would use in ear earphones they will seal better 2. If possible have someone else put them in your ear. 3. Make sure you mix compounds thoroughly.

I bought a self help earplug kit from kiwiplugs.co.nz
Sounds slightly similar. I found there was enough silicon for 3 pairs of plugs, and I adapted one pair to fit my in-ear buds.

And there's are $89 Lets face it its a couple of gobs! of silicon that most likely is worth a few cents. But unless you are a chemist you dont know what sort or kind etc hence the high price. I bought these kits for myself then added a few extra to cover postage from states. I made mine the other day and they are OK . As i mention above though better to get somone to help you make them
