Hi,

I have just purchased a Asus Me 400c tablet and it listed GPS as one of the functions. But i am not able to get this to work. Does it require an internet connection when out and about ?. Would anyone know how to get GPS working ?

you need to be a bit more descriptive than it doesn't work, what app are you using to get your GPS fix?, is the GPS turned off in the settings?, what kind of error message are you getting?

GPS only works outside. Indoors it's just an approximation (although with current technology they're pretty good).

Start the maps app, go outside and wait to see if it finds you.

As above, what are you trying to achieve and what apps are you using?

It is common for GPS chipsets to be included in/on the same boards as the WiFi module. If you have WiFi (or 3G) functions disabled there will be no power to the board, and no GPS data.
Also, first time use it may take a few minutes for the GPS receiver to update its internal database (almanac) that it need to determine your position.
And you really want the unit to be outside for that, as others have indicated.
