I think I may already know the answer but I'm interested in other opinions.
The GPS in my Samsung SG II reads 100 kmph when my Nissan Murano reads 107 mph and my Honda Jazz reads 105 mph.
Are you willing to bet a speeding fine on your phone's accuracy?

most cars' speedos overread so you don't get caught. my car reads 60 when doing 53, and 107 when doing 100

GPS is far more accurate provided you are travelling on a straight and level piece of road with good signal. Euro standard for car speedometers is +8 km so your cars are fairly standard.

Handy to know that if you use your cars speedo @ 100 km you have some 'wriggle room' for minor errors.
