Dang us South Aucklanders must be last on the list for IPv6! But could just be my EgdeRouter isn't configured right...? I've set it up for a /56 which I hope is right. Might see if I can find and dust off the Slingshot supplied Netcomm and see if it can get IPv6.

PM your username and I will have a look to see if you are on a BNG which is configured.

(I don't get it either yet!.....and I designed the build!)

@Sounddude

I live in Masterton, Wairarapa.

Is there a 'map' to show when regions are expected to be connected to IPV6?

No real map we publish, but Masterton is mapped to our Wellington BNG which is due to upgrade on the 3rd Sept.

Thanks.

I have a Netcomm NF18ACV, supplied by Slingshot.

When it is activated here, to see if I am connected to IPV6, whereabouts in the router do I look?

Will it show under Device Info: Lan IPV6 ULA Address, which is currently blank?

Probably not: that is blank for me. Instead, check the Default IPv6 Gateway line and the WAN Info page (Device Info > WAN).

Just logged into my Router and see that the Default IPv6 Gateway field now has numbers and letters in it.

Will I see any difference with anything?

If your router is assigning an IPv6 address to your end-devices, and they're using it correctly, you should see the "ipv6" graphic on the Geekzone homepage and/or get the IPv6 badge, for one!

What does https://test-ipv6.com/ tell you?

Test your IPv6 connectivity-

This is what is shown after the test:

Test with IPv4 DNS record
ok (0.339s) using ipv4
Test with IPv6 DNS record
timeout (15.017s)
Test with Dual Stack DNS record
ok (0.325s) using ipv4
Test for Dual Stack DNS and large packet
ok (0.263s) using ipv4
Test IPv6 large packet
timeout (15.016s)
Test if your ISP's DNS server uses IPv6
ok (0.407s) using ipv4
Find IPv4 Service Provider
ok (0.744s) using ipv4 ASN 9790
Find IPv6 Service Provider
timeout (15.008s)

You appear to have no IPv6 at this time..

If you strongly believe you have IPv6, but we were unable to detect it: it means one of a couple of things. Either your organization is blocking the use of IPv6 to talk to the outside Internet through network policy; or perhaps what you see with IPv6 on your host is not a global address. Any address starting with "::", "fc", "fd", or "fe" are unable to work with the public IPv6 Internet.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Default IPv6 Gateway:    fe80::8626:2bff:fe66:1971

As "fe" shows in the Default IPv6 Gateway, it looks like some configuration from either Slingshot, myself or both is required.

I am totally new to this but can follow instruction and suggestions.
Any advice on what to do next is appreciated.

PS. Where would the IPv6 badge show on the Homepage?
