I'm actually not 100% sure.

@Sounddude Is there an easy way of telling if you've been migrated over?

@sounddude - There is still something weird happenning during the 8pm-12am period of time.
Speeds have improved but are averaging ~ 750mbps and latency is increased.

Issues with handover in Wellington?

Further to the results I posted yesterday see below -

7737    15/03/2023, 00:00:19    921.057528    520.794808    1.386    21611    Xtreme Networks

7735    14/03/2023, 22:00:21    777.582976    520.467656    14.211  21611    Xtreme Networks
7734    14/03/2023, 21:00:20    778.593688    468.698488    13.884  21611    Xtreme Networks
7733    14/03/2023, 20:00:19    780.176864    521.081832    1.378    21611    Xtreme Networks

Latency during this period also increases from 1.4msec to this test server to 14.2msec.

Can you please test using the 2degrees servers rather than Xtreme.

Xtreme is offnet, so might be issues elsewhere out of our control.

@Sounddude can peering for CG-NAT ranges like 161.29.224.x 161.29.226.x 161.29.231.x be fixed? There is effectively no access via national multilateral peering exchanges due to a more specific /19 route via transit.

Thanks. Will change to 2dgrees servers and monitor accordingly.

@sounddude - Still something strange occuring which is consistent during that period.

Now testing using the 2degrees servers. Download speeds are normal but upload is not. Was opposite in the case when using the Xtreme Networks servers BUT what is consistent is the increased latency during this period.

Latency basically doubles during this period.

Still weird stuff going on last two evenings.  Big step changes in the ping time to the 2 Degrees server.

Any ideas?

Guys, this is by far not the best tool for this.

You'll need something like Smokeping or Vaping to track latency to multiple places... not a Speedtest server that may be perhaps under load during that time or even doing a scheduled task.

Agreed - the tests to the Speedtest servers provide general view. Results are consistent during those periods but been running traceroute's during these periods and its showing the same increase in latency.

I might actually setup smokeping and an additional test harness.

Realised that I already have some other monitors on the network and this has captured the increased latency over the last week.
This is over the last couple of nights.

Strangely this was occurring to me as well, but only for NZ traffic.
Orcon, 7pm to about 9pm. NZ sites dialup speed and tv streaming.
Perfect performance on netflix, YouTube etc.

It has been ok lately though, but seemed to occur every night for 3 nights.

My gigabit connection can't break 20Mbps tonight. It's taken 10 minutes to download an 85MB file!
