It's really a moot point. At the end of the day midspan injection is the issue. The only way to solve your problem is to move you to a cabinet, where you should be.

The cynic in me would point out that the price difference between Orcon providing you service over a ULL circuit vs a Chorus wholesale circuit is substancial and that there are financial motives for wanting to keep customers on ULL despite the degraded performance they will see.


Thats a nice conspiracy theory.
Looks like the OP has been moved to a wholesale connection now.

Phewsion: Chorus sorted it today, according to Drfixit there was a fibre node between me and the exchange so the orcon provisioning team sent Chorus out to change it





This is the midspan injection issue that everybody has been telling you about for several pages and your first post off the Chorus SAT showed us. Good to see it's finally fixed.

Why do these telcos insist on giving their customers poor service by not moving them to the wholesale network when cabinetised. Very very poor!
Lost count of how many times I've found customers with poor Internet for this reason. Come on SWITCH YOUR CUSTOMERS TO WHOLESALE IF THEY HAVE BEEN CABINETISED!

Oh and this goes for you too Vodafone and Slingshot!




Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster and even more now as they are upgrading their rural Conklins. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend $195 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?

It might be a cynical comment but if pricing isn't a factor why weren't all ULL customers moved across when they were cabinetised or moved across now that cabinetisation is complete and the real world performance issues of midspan injection well known?

I'll have to wait till my next bill to find out if I get charged more, there was no mention of a pricing increase in the PM's with Drfixit or the email from orcon provisioning

Still got 9 days till my billing cycle ticks over and I've already hit my 60gb cap for this month so I can't even make use of the nice speed lol :)

How does one get access to the chorus map showing these details? I emailed them and got a reply that access was only for "Chorus customers".

Some of the details that were in SAT are now not public and will only be accessible to those with access to Chorus systems.

If you are a new connection, you would be put onto the correct device for your area. You won't be effected by mid point injection which this thread is talking about.
