Large household, average anywhere between 200-600gb a month, skype and youtube streaming is important, although youtube at 1080p isn't a need, if it wont render in real time. Would expect 720p to load fine though. Not really a gamer, do play Guild wars 2 from time to time though, but doubt that requires a low ping, so online gaming isn't much of a concern.
Major data usage is FTP, which with slingshot hits 1.2-1.5MB/s down most of the time, upload being maxed regardless of time. P2P isn't used too much anymore so wont miss Slingshots superb torrent caching.
general web browsing is obviously important too, would be good if the majority of sites like facebook would load fine the majority of time, but have been having issues with slingshots DNS and largely cached sites such as facebook, youtube, tumblr etc so if orcon has the same level of performance in that aspect, then I can't complain.
Am currently getting 15-18Mb down and 0.7Mb up. Am very happy with Slingshots services but the possible savings is too much to give up, providing the service isn't absolute crap, a slight speed decrease would be acceptable.
